You probably have bought the comic by now to check, I'd think. But I am pretty sure this was one of the Adams pages. He did the first few pages of the book, pretty sure it listed them. He was supposed to do the whole thing, but didn't realize there was a deadline as I remember.

I think it looks great! As anybody on Kitson. Jesse Delperdang is one of the best at slapping down inks in the biz in my book. Love the spotting of blacks on here and the embellishment just really filling it out perfectly. Tight, but Kitson left pretty much nothing but outlines to work with. I think this is a superb example of great inking and artistry in action.

I really like this one, too! Crazy beard on the screaming guy! I like it. Reminds me of some of the cooler Bible, Historical, Greek Myth illos I used to see in books when I was a kid, battle scenes, right. Used to love those, for some reason you barely see painted illos in popular mags or books anymore like those. Used to be more prevalent, back when commercial illustration used more painters and stuff. It's a compliment on the quality, anyways. But really great colors, though, and nice piece! Really vibrant and impactful and has a voice of its own. Good work, dude!

Ha! That's a trip! Different looking, but in a good way. Original look at it and take on a piece, I mean. I like that. Wish there was more daring like that out there; could have so easily been generic with the pov and composition, even if still good. It's got real ideas and a story behind it and doesn't pander. Trying to explain myself and probably just sound confusing. Anyways... cool stuff.

HA! Wow, it's been years since I've seen this but I remember it! Always thought that drawing was really cool and admired it in my copy of Overstreet, was just getting into comics at the time and didn't realize Shawn McManus had done the artwork either! Thanks for posting this, man!!!

That's a great piece and a cool concept, I like that pic a lot! I agree that Ryan is under-rated. Wish he was working on one of the big two's flagship titles regularly! Used to subscribe to his run on FF, it was always a treat to get those issues in the mail because he always did an exceptional and kickass job.

Just guessing, but maybe he lightboxed it? Broderick's run on Alpha Flight was one of my first subscriptions when I was just getting into comics, Broderick could do some cool stuff and he had his own style. Cool stuff.
