I went thru every issue of Amazing Science Fiction published in 1960 and it's pretty clear that Leo Summers is indeed Grayam and Varga.Maybe the publisher wanted the readers to think they were looking at different artists work instead of the same guy for the whole issue?
I think it's possible the artist might be Harrel Gray who was only credited for one cover Amazing Science Fiction Magazine July 1960. Some of Grayam's artwork appears in that issue. I was comparing the one cover Harrel Gray did with interiors from Fantastic and Amazing and to me anyway it looks like he could be the artist.
Wow quite a story this illustration represents. Artists of Caniff's stature are truely gone with the wind.
Actually the face looks like W.C. Fields also. I think if I recall his nose got bigger and redder because of his alcoholism.
Not to burst your bubble but the bear with the money vest is W.C. Fields. The physical mannerism and dialog are all Fields. I noticed the daily is even funnier when you read the bears dialog with W.C. Field's voice.
I would of liked to have seen Walter's interpretation of this present day alien conspiracy traitor rats to democracy Republican party.
To me it looks like something that was done for the enlisted men during world war 2.
I feel like I need to be looking at art like this in a wood paneled library while wearing a monogrammed robe, lounging in a nice comfortable chair and puffing on my cherrywood tobacco by the fire.

I love how the calculating cautiousness in the women's face sweeps down her arm to the wolf . I ca'nt think of anyone out there who conveys better body language than Mike .
