This realy captures Queequeg's essence. Awesome piece. Thanks for sharing.
Technically Starbuck was Ahabs first mate. And Queequeg was Starbucks harpooner. Ahab's harpooner was Fadallah the parsee. Just saying... great drawing btw!
Both my favorite artist and my favorite story. Congratulations on getting this.
I'm glad you got this one. I like it as much as my own. It has a different feel even though it's the same scene. "To the last I grapple with thee!"
For years I thought it was Gil Kane and Klaus Janson... Turns out it was Gil Kane and Mike Esposito!
Wow. This is so boss. I never thought of taking this angle on the scene. Congrats for sure.
I just discovered Captain Fear. Only 6 issues of adventure comics had Nino's creation and it only came into my collection recently. He originally drew Moby Dick for marvel in 1976 and I just got my commission done. After recently devouring his work with my own eyes I bought the 6 comics. I think this captain fear is really wonderful and your commission is incredible. Nino is pure genius!
This piece really captures ahab's madness. Well done and perfect medium for the character. Congrats.
I've been looking at nino's work the last few days cause I'm waiting to see the piece he is doing for me. If it's at this level I will be floored. This is a beauty of a piece.
It's only appropriate that it's on oversized paper cause godzilla is kinda oversized himself. Lol
Congratulations on the new piece. Hope it brings you joy for a long time.
Father Maple addressing his shipmates and the contrast of pagan queequeg idol worshiping... awesome page!
This is the cover to the first spiderman book I ever owned as a kid. It still holds a special place for me. Let me know if you ever can part with it, I call first dibs! Lol beautiful piece.
I had been looking for this. If you ever decide to sell it please ask me first. Awesome cover.
If you ever decide to part with this, I'm your man. Love it!
This is definitely one well crafted piece. Moby Dick is also my favorite book of all time. Check out my gallery and thanks for posting such a wonderful commision.
This is a beast of a page! Congratulations on acquiring it. It is definitely a masterpiece. Ploog did more then a fine job laying it out.
My favorite book of all time and my number one artist. Incredible!
New Mutants was my first encounter with Mr. Sienkiewicz's art. I hated it at first because I loved the New Mutants up till that point and I didn't understand the new art style. I was a 10 year old kid so it took a while for me to "get it". Now he is my number 1 artist. I must have 50 books signed by him. And I have the 2 sketches. Cannonball and Bullseye. But my God I wish I could own one of his New Mutants pages. If you ever decide to sell this please let me know first! This is an awesome page and you are so lucky to own it. Congrats on owning this amazing page of comic book history!
Wow he did a great job! Daredevil vs Dracula is something that should be done in the comic, too cool!
I have looked at this a few times. great work there Mike!
I just read the description of Ahab again and you know what? It doesn't say which leg it was. I have always imagined it being the left but it could be either. My bad. Good work!
Definitely worth bragging about!
I love all my Bullseye pieces and have few others. This one is special. My favorite book and one hell of an artist!
Damn! How does he cram so much art onto one page? I wish I could see this in person. The detail must be incredible!
I almost mistook this one for a John Byrne for a second. John circles his autograph and it is in his style. it's an awesome Cyclops!
I thought the story sucked but the art is awesome. Glad you got a piece you love.
Very cool! I haven't seen the movie in years but this is the pivotal scene for me.
You don't have to thank me about taking the train into the city for the day, it was fun to see Rich for a few hours and I had other things to do. But you can thank me for going to the post office after I do cause who likes standing on line! And you're welcome for everything to do with this piece. i was glad to make it happen. I know you would have done the same.
