It's a good question, especially since the second part of the story is in MTU, and is drawn by Ron Wilson, who was the reguar MTIO artist at the time. My guess would be this was originally supposed to start in MTU, but for whatever scheduling issue arose, they swapped the contents of the issues.
Nice page from one of the greatest comics ever.
Can you give us an idea of what the original art will be? A sketch or soemthing? I'm interested, but would like to see some examples. Thanks.
Just heard you talking about this on the Felix art podcast and had to check it out. Amazing!
Yep! Love Mick, talented and awesome fella! Thanks for all the nice comments, btw :)

Oh, and I just noticed... There's a fun little caricature of Archie Goodwin on the wanted poster in panel 3 :)
This is a really cool piece. These Rudolph stories are pure comic book fun! I'd guess that gift box changed size so it wouldn't interfere with the logo, notice how it would be hidden beneath the logo if left as is.
Congrats on a great pickup. I love Andru's Spidey more than anything, glad to see his work appreciated and that this page found a good home!
This just might be my favorite art ever featuring the Surfer. Nice!
Damn, that's beautiful. It's almost the quintessential Marvel page.
Thanks, Steven! I'm planning on adding a couple more pieces to this gallery, so watch this space!
Good stuff. Love Sal's work on these early issues, thanks for sharing this one.
Thanks for posting these, Scott. It's fascinating to see the old prices, and it's also interesting to notice how many of these pieces have changed hands so many years later. We truly are just temporary guardians of history, eh?
You're very lucky to own a page from this issue... I think it may be the best in the entire run!
Great page! You know, looking at this makes me want to dig out my copy of the issue and re-read it. Thanks for reminding me about a great comic!
You have a nice little piece of history here, sir. Congrats!
Hard to imagine a better example of Kirby's masterful cosmic art. Congratulations on a true grail page, thank you for sharing it!
