Description

Vic Haboush (1924-2009) got his start with Disney in 1952 working on Peter Pan. He later went on to work on such classics as Sleeping Beauty, Lady and the Tramp, 101 Dalmations, as well as projects for other studios including The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Dick Tracy, The Incredible Mr. Limpet, and more.

In 1997 Haboush came out of retirement for one final film when he joined the production team on The Iron Giant.

This is a development painting he did for the film featuring little Hogarth and the Iron Giant himself. Accomplished in gouache, pastel, graphite, and charcoal on paper. Singed by Victor Haboush.

I only learned Vic Habough's name from The Art of the Iron Giant book. This is a spectacular piece from a great movie.
