Description

This is one of the discarded concepts for Topolino magazine #3018 cover.

It's inspired to the story "Bum Bum e l'androide perfetto" written by Corrado Mastantuono and illustrated by Stefano Intini where Gyro creates an android that resembles Bum Bum Ghigno to sort of replace him since he's been constantly nagging. At some point, things go wrong, but in the end friendship triumphs.

In this concept, we can also see Bum Bum and we clearly get from his expression that he is not a little bit happy to see his best friends, Gyro and Donald, happy together with a successful android version of him.

The scene certainly is more "traditional" than the one chosen for the cover (you can see it in my Disney covers section) but I love the beautiful composition as well as the readability (you instantly understand what's the story is about) without giving out the plot twist.
