DescriptionLucca Comics & Games 2015.In the artists' alley, among the others, there was Kim Jung Gi, a Korean artist who has become widely famous for being able to directly draw (without any pencil structure) from memory, without any reference. It was incredible to have the chance to see him doing it, live. I couldn't miss the opportunity to have a "sketch" from him and I specifically asked for a Tintin (I knew he already had the chance to draw Hergé's creation) to be realized as a remarque on his latest sketchbook volume. I love Tintin and Kim Jung Gi's rendition of the character... it was amazing to see him drawing it, carefully placing line after line, it looked like he was merely tracing invisible lines on the paper only he was able to see. Huge thanks, Kim! Social/Sharing |

Very cool idea to ask Kim to draw this and a great rendition. Cover worthy.

Great!!!
I also have 2 sketches from Kim Jung Gi in Angoulême this year. He was not that busy compared to other artist better known (lucky was I). That's true he is incredible, drawing directly with ink with no pencil guide, he has the final image in his mind and never fails. His big frescoes with many characters are also done with same process. A big talented man.
