Description

Continuing with my own self-imposed mission, which began back in 2001, to collect only the Cisco dailies which met my personal set of parameters for "cream of the crop" examples, here is the 4th of five consecutive dailies featuring an incredible, action packed scene in which Cisco gets into a gun fight with a band of Indians, and then fights one on one in hand to hand combat.

This 5 day sequence exhibits an excellent variety of medium range, long range and closeup shots. Even a wide angle shot! There are multiple images showing the famous, hand painted flower pattern embroidery on Cisco's shirt, multiple images of exquisitely drawn horses, and several beautifully rendered images of Indians, who, when considering that Cisco Kid is a Western strip, make very infrequent appearances on the originals which are known to exist. All in all, this 5 strip sequence may just be my 5 favourite strips in my collection and I'm absolutely thrilled to have them.

As you alluded before Ruben, whats so sad is that Salinas created probably over 5,000 of these little masterpieces. Out of that number, what maybe 300-400 survived? What a loss, fortunately these survived!
