DescriptionA great page from a very fun and jam packed issue with Superman, Pa Kent, a Kryptonian ship, and an image of Jor-El! The origin story in this issue is a reminder of the story in the Superman Man of Steel movie (a DC flick I really enjoyed). As always, great imagery from Ed McGuinness – my absolute favorite era for his Superman art. Perfect Cam Smith inks!I am a big fan of the art from Ed’s Superman issues and am always looking for more, please feel free to reach out if you have any for sale. Social/Sharing |

This is a very cool page !
Mcguinness's work on Superman is my favorite stuff that he's ever done.
It's a bonus that this page is lettered.
Congrats on a fine addition to your collection !

Great addition from McGuinness. I especially enjoy the lighting/shadows in the top panel.

It's ok, you win some and you lose some. You deserve it. :) I'm glad you got it.

It's all that green on the page that made you buy it! But you stuck around for the McGuinness!

Ed McGuinness kills it on every title he works on, but his Superman was especially top-notch. This is a great example from his run. Congrats! And yeah, I like Marcus's observation that there is a lot of green on the page, which must have caught your eye as well :-)

Ed's art was one of the main reasons I came back to the Superman books in the early 2000s after a few years away. Great page with my favorite of the Jor-El designs.

Thanks! Ed's visuals on this run brought me back into comics after a hiatus. I couldn't get enough and gobbled up all the back issues I could find.

These Ed Supes post really do take me back! This book put him on the map and it's not hard to see why. Great example here, Dave - keep em' comin'! Congrats!

Incredibly cool Superman page by Ed McGuinness! Love the fact that it ties in to Kal-El's origin. So cool seeing McGuiness's take on Jor-El...And even better, his version of the rocket that brought baby Kal-El to Earth! (Isnt that the coolest retro-looking rocket ship ever?) Fabulous pick-up!
