DescriptionThis isn't in hand yet, but Jiggy was so pleased with it that he sent this scan to me straightaway. It is a really unusual, striking and, overall speaking, very impressive (as well as inventive) commission by Lan Medina (whom, as we all know, is a very experienced as well as accomplished artist).By way of background, Lan really put his heart and soul into this piece, even showing me an initial sketch of the piece. It has been clear for the longest time that Jiggy not only has a very accomplished team of artists but that he - together with each and every one of them - puts in maximum passion as well as effort into their artwork in general and commissions in particular. You really could do no better than to obtain commissions of your favorite character from the artists at Next Comic Art. Social/Sharing |

Thank you ComicArtBoston for sharing! I'm REALLY HAPPY you like it! The take is very unique and if the story were real, I would love to read the comic book!

Many thanks once again to you and Lan! Yes, the take is very unique indeed and, who knows, perhaps there might be such a story like this one day!

The mystery sketches and commissions that I've seen popping up on CAF by Lan have all been fantastic, and this is no exception!

You're preaching to the choir. I was so happy when I got my Medina piece last year. But I didn't get to deal with Jiggy because it came from a different rep. Anyway, I love this modern day take on the character. It would probably make a great What If story. Congrats on a great, great, piece. I'm sure you will be smiling from ear to ear when you have it in hand.

Many thanks, Eric. And the same inventiveness as well as execution is to be found in your piece as well (which I've just been over to look at). One thing is clear - you cannot go wrong with a Lan Medina commission!

Lan Medina is probably one of the most accomplished veteran artists of the Next Comic Art roster. This looks so powerful and energetic like Lan was inspired by the rest of the crew to up his game!

Yes, he is indeed, Marcus. And his work does have a certain extra polish compared to some of the younger artists (who, it should be said, are wonderful artists in their own right).

Medina delivers a truly standout take on the Two-Gun Kid, blending his refined storytelling skills with an inventive composition. You can really see the passion he poured into this piece. However, I must admit my surprise and disappointment in not seeing your description even make mention, let alone explain, the idea behind bringing a well known Western character into the contemporary age of motorcycles and bazookas!

Many thanks, Rubén. The idea was all Lan's and I just went along with him for the awesome ride!
