DescriptionHere's the first strip of the 13th Carol Day storyline, "Last of the Line" by David Wright! A very glamorous-looking Carol is in all three panels with amazing detail throughout. Check out the varied textures and intense use of cross-hatching by Wright and the killer money shot in the third panel!I saw this one early in my quest to find the perfect Carol Day example for my collection last year. Unfortunately, though, the owner wasn't ready to part with it then. As the months passed by, I would compare every strip from the series that hit the market to this one and none of them quite measured up in my eyes. So, when the owner came back to me recently and said he was ready to sell, I was thrilled to take it down! Many thanks to Chris K., Roger Clark and Guy Mills for leading the recent revival for this largely forgotten strip! Social/Sharing |

This is an absolute stunner! All three panels are superb. You get wonderful images of Carol in each and great examples of Wright's masterful use of hatching for the varied lighting effects. Your patience and perseverance truly paid off!

Beautiful Carol Day strip by David Wright. The sheer level of crosshatching on Carol Day strips is always amazing to me. It seems David put more effort into every one of his strips than most strip artists did in a week. A master truly devoted to his art. Beautiful pick-up, congrats!
