DescriptionYO JOE!!I was on the Talking Joe podcast this past weekend, where we did a 2 1/2 hour deep dive into all 22 original art pages of the classic "Silent Interlude" wordless story from G.I. Joe #21 (and, yes, this epic, iconic issue fully merits such a lengthy discussion!) For those who may be unaware, in addition to being one of the most unique and classic comic books of the 1980s, if not all-time, it's also the issue that first introduced the Cobra ninja character Storm Shadow, who most recently featured prominently in the Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins movie this summer. As you can imagine, I've "read" issue #21 countless times, but, Mark and Tim, the co-hosts of the podcast, had so much amazing insight that I came away from it with an even greater appreciation of the art. If you think Joe #21 is just about '80s nostalgia, you're just dead wrong. I'm not sure if Tim is an art teacher in real life (he mentioned that he's a teacher of some sort), but, he did a great job of analyzing the art, while both he and Mark are steeped in Joe knowledge to a far greater degree than I am, and added a lot of insight to it all. So now you know. And knowing is half the battle - YO JOE!! Link to the Talking Joe G.I. With dialogue on just one page, I've read it even more times that I can count.

Enjoyed the discussion on the podcast. I remember reading this as a kid and was blown away by the story and last page reveal. Not only an iconic issue, but the best drawn story in the whole run.

Historic storytelling at its best!
(Even if personally, I would have preferred for Leihaloha to handle the art alone).

Great page and fun podcast (got to the discussion of this page before I had to drop). Major congratulations on such a key work of art and something that means so much to you. Thanks for sharing the art and the podcast.
