DescriptionThis piece was created by Finlay in October 1965 and used as an illustration for a mailer promoting the Science Fiction Book Club, which at the time had as one of its offerings "From the Twilight Zone" by Rod Serling. The mailer had a lenticular eye glued in place of the white circle left on the original. I'll post the art as it appeared on the mailer as well.UPDATE - Finlay's "Twilight Zone" art is discussed in the fourth installment of my look at the art of "Things to Come," the bulletin of the Science Fiction Book club, which is now up on Black Gate. This time out I cover the years 1964-1966, featuring some rare Virgil Finlay art. You can check it out here: https://www.blackgate.com/2022/10/16/the-art-of-things-to-come-part-4-1964-1966/ Social/Sharing |

Finlay reaches into the imagination and into nightmares as well to bring this vision into reality!

I think its time for someone with a clearer mind to type. The fairest solution is for the person with most Finlays to send someone with less, the artwork. Now, heres the crux of the matter. You both have loads and I have a mere one example. Lets not slip into communism but spread the love around. When the revolution happens and America falls, revolting peasants will storm your 'palaces' and take them anyway. Send your art to me. I will keep it safe.
