What a charming sketchbook cover by Brwet Blevins. I love this idea that the artist's brush, as it paints the hair on a drawing of a model, might actually tickle the model that he's drawn. The interaction of the artist and his work intrigues me. The idea that the drawing might have some kind of separate existence is an old one, of course. In Greek Mythology, Pygmalion was a sculptor who fell in love with one of his sculptures, which then came to life I think Walt Disney did a short or two playing with the concept of a drawing that comes to life. Still, I enjoy seeing Bret Blevins play with the idea. The model he's drawing does appear quite charming and it's fun to think that she might, in her world at least, have an existence all her own. Fabulous pick-up, congrats!
