DescriptionThis issue came to me as a 'back issue'. I'd started reading the Micros during the Broderick run of the book, in the middle of the (1st!) return of Baron Karza. (Issues 27 - 28 ...and what a continuity-heavy place to try to start reading a book! Sheesh!)After seeing Karza get his butt handed to him again, I asked a fellow high-school comic reader to dredge up his copy of Micronauts #11 (referenced by the editors in the current book I'd just finished), and he brought it with us to a State High School Swimming Meet in Duluth, MN. I read it there at the Radisson Hotel, Duluth. (The hotel with the revolving restaurant in the top floor!) So when I say I remember where I was when I read it the first time, I'm not kidding. After being exposed to only Broderick's take on the book so far, I was completely blown away by Golden's style. Simple, elegant, emotional, and with such epic sweep, the art could easily be called cinematic. Social/Sharing |

Wow! What a treat to read this complete story from the originals! I wish more people would post stuff like this to CAF. It's great how far Mantlo and Golden went with this series, given a line of toys as source material. Golden's work is just brilliant here... any one of these pages could be the cornerstone of a whole collection.

Whoa! A complete Golden Micronauts issue! This might be the best thing on CAF. Thank you for sharing, and congrats!

This is a tremendous collection of Golden pages, any one of which would send any other collector (myself included) into a ecstatic frenzy. Although it was based on a group of toys that I never owned, I too, loved the Micronauts book, and at one time, owned the entire first run of the comics. But of those, those first dozen or so magical Golden issues always were my favorites. I remember pouring over the art in those books, as the art was so elegant, so powerful and so beautiful. Congratulations on a stunningly spectacular acquisition!

Always great seeing a book together. But, seeing a Golden Micronauts book? Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

I love Golden's early Marvel work. Too bad the Micronauts have not stood the test of time and have been relegated to relative obscurity.

I had a very similar reading experience to you. Micronauts #26 was my first comic book. My parents got it for me for Christmas, probably because they also bought me Rocket Tubes. Not only did I not know who the Micronauts were, but I had no idea who Nick Fury, S.H.I.E.L.D., or Hydra were. But they looked cool! I too bought the back issues up to that point ASAP. Gratz on reassembling a terrific book.
