DescriptionI have always wanted to add a page from one of my most favorite artists, Bob Lubbers into my Fiction House collection. Was so grateful when my good friend Roger Clark and his associates Chris and Guy gifted me this piece by way of the storied collection of George Hagenauer. George had owned this piece for around 30 years. (Thanks again for letting this one go George.)It features Firehair from the December 1946 issue of Rangers Comics. Always over the top, this is a fun page which shows our heroine literally being thrown out of the final panel! Trimmed outline of her figure but all part of the same Bristol board. Great action. Beautiful hero. A one-eyed bandit named "Squint". This page has it all. Just a beautiful example of Lubbers work during his earlier time in comics. So appreciative to have the chance to curate this piece of history! Social/Sharing |

That last panel alone is worth the price of admission. Fantastic early work by Lubbers!

Wow... that's the only use of a full bleed that I've seen in American comic art pre-1970s!

Great page...like you, I am a sucker for a good GGA page from Fiction House. That last panel is just so much fun.

I am a HUGE Bob Lubbers fan. Having such a fine example from his days at Fiction House is quite special to me.
