Description

Reports of a dangerous individual, last seen near Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum, wearing only swimming trunks? Who could it be? In this second issue of the Marvel Feature showcasing of the ‘Defenders’, the great Marvel anti-team, Doctor Strange has been kidnapped by Dormammu’s occultist followers. And it’s up to Subby and Hulk to save him, which they set about doing by… fighting each other.
Sal Buscema’s inks are fantastic on Ross Andru’s wildly dynamic depictions of the Sub-Mariner (and of the Hulk, seen only in shadow). There’s something strangely playful to the Hulk’s attempt to ambush his long-time sparring partner, by throwing crates at him in an alley in Greenwich Village.

Great team origin building block page setting up Subby and Hulk's relationship for this series as opposed to their earliest encounter in Avengers 3. Andru's dramatic set up with those Buscema finishes really adds a quality of realism to establish dramatic tension in that Marvel manner.

Just LOVE this page!!! The nice variety of vantage points and great use of solid blacks really adds to the drama!
