What it is (traditional Thune greeting).

Bill Willingham only drew four pages of Nexus, but they were significant ones. In Nexus 10, Willingham drew the Tales of Dave backup feature that first introduced parts of Dave's back story, specifically how he was tortured and how he endured before being rescued and liberated by Nexus. This experience and his loss of wife and child (though later his child Fred was reunited with him as the warrior and independent adjudicator Judah Maccabee) helped shape Dave into the wise but removed figure seen in Nexus.

Dave appears to have been the first individual that Nexus rescued and brought back with him to Ylum, beginning a change in his philosophy from being solely an executioner to being a complex mix of executioner, liberator and resettlement advocate. Ylum became a beacon to all repressed persons, but also a cautionary tale of the difficulty of constant mass immigration.

Quite a parable. This piece has not been seen publicly since it was drawn in 1985.
