SPIEGLE DAN OMEGA MEN 32 (NEAR) COMPLETE ISSUE

After being the lucky owner of the cover to Omega Men 32 (https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1294805), I am also the proud owner of the interior (near) complete issue. After inquiring about purchasing a single page from the issue, I was offered the complete interiors which while representing a big purchase delighted me. Only to be told that upon inventoring it, it appeared that two pages were missing (pages 1 and 8). I could back down from the deal but the idea of owning still a close to full issue AND the cover remained very appealing. I insisted that should the lost two pages ever surface, I would buy them and was assured that I would be contacted. Which of course never materialized. I turned every stone I could think of on my own and they remain lost to this day. I’m convinced that they remain the possession of Dan’s widow and that they have simply been misfiled but that’s just an intuition. I would of course be interested in completing the book should anyone have a lead or own them but to be clear to all the usual hostage holders/crooks in our hobby, I know what they are worth and how much I paid for the others and won’t be ransomed ^^. Pre-Post covid era or not, Dan Spiegle art is factually not the hottest the hobby has ever seen despite his super abilities as an artist and storyteller. Now the story does not end here because the seller was kind enough to hold on to the art as I was hopping to buy more Spiegle art (either from Crossfire or his war books work). Covid came and went and when I felt it was safe to ship it after all the shipping problems seemingly were over, I asked for the art to be shipped. And it quickly disappeared from the tracking grid. After being patient for a while, I went back to the seller who basically answered that “it would turn up eventually as they always do”. I requested that he would contact USPS for an update and/or to open an investigation to which I was answered that there was not much he felt he could do. I insisted politely and communication stopped afterwards. Which to me really felt that the money had been pocketed and that I would receive no help on his end (what great service!). So, I inquired on my end with the Belgian post and asked a friend if he would help with opening an investigation with USPS, passing as the seller himself, which he gladly did (Hi Bro!). Then nothing happened and I sadly considered that the package was lost with 22 pages of art inside. Now Spiegle art is generally not super expensive, but as you can do the math, this was not a worth nothing loss. If memory serves the art popped up out of the blue more than 9 months after being shipped, much to my surprised relief. All the pages are larger than usual, I’d say 12 by 18 and I offer them to you in all their glory. A near complete book from an impeccable artist and storyteller that the great and highly demanding Gil Kane equaled in talent with Alex Toth. The art and story are very feline themed and I could not be happier for it.
