Wow, like this one a ton Jan! Surprised I didnt see it before when we were corresponding about Tim. Just a fine example and like you, I prize this period at Standard with Romance and Horror   work (but especially romance) more than his Superhero work in later years.

I own the pencil original of this piece-purchased at Earthlight Gallery in Boston in 1980 when I was in college. 

What an interesting combination of penciller/inker. Not sure I ever saw Wood over Colan before and its a great combination if this page is a good example-because its an awesome page!

I was the original owner of this when Buscema sold it. I sure wish I hadnt had to sell it many years ago because its an awesome cover! My only consolation is that I have what I think was his only recreation of this cover, though he did several of other notable ones like SS#4. Congrats on a great piece, I still love it to death. 

Mark never fails to amaze me with bith  his pencil work and his brush work. While often work like this is seen as "preliminary" and perhaps it is part of Mark's process to move to an inked drawing, a piece like this is certainly a fully finished piece of art and one that any lover of his work would be more than proud to display!

I wasnt really aware of Zirrit's work but recently got a cool Little Nemo piece by him and now I want to see more.

What a great example of the first blush of Frazetta's talent. He went on to do so much more, but his work in comics before he jumped to being Al Capp's uncredited assistant was certainly a high water mark and this shows why that work remains so respected.

We must be a bit in synch on our buying because i have a prelim of that classic Starman pose and like you I have had a foreground by an artist (Geoff Darrow in my case) finished with a Gerhard background. He is so damn talented. 

What a great example of this superb strip. The line work, the ability to draw beautiful women with real expression in their faces, interesting writing-great stuff!
