DescriptionThis was the first piece of Fiction House original artwork I ever purchased. Comes from their title, "Indians" published in the Winter 1952-1953. "Warriors of the West" tells the story of the historical leader of the Sac tribe, Blackhawk. Artwork is attributed to Dick Dillin (the title splash was sold by Heritage Auctions and contained his name and address written in the margin.)I really enjoy each of the classic panels included here. First, the stretched hide panel one which contains the narration. And secondly the isolated head of Blackhawk in panel four. Quite representational of the techniques used in storytelling of that day.
