Howard Chaykin, American Flagg!, Issue 8 Page 6 (First Comics)

Chaykin's duo shade for tone and shadow really gave American Flagg! a nice distinct cutting edge future look, even though the stuff has been around forever.  We just didn't see it used to this extent as most artists would use adhesive screentone instead.  This page has all the superb storytelling and fine panel busting action you'd expect.  For an indie, this series was giving the big two a look at the quality that stood with the very best of the era.
