Cool PD cover! I dig the show...very atmospheric!
Very cool cover by Mike and a shame it wasn't published. Had no idea you were such a big Penny Dreadful fan. I worked with Reeve Carney and his band Carney for many years back in the day (he played Dorian Gray in the show) and he was Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the broadway play Turn Off The Dark that I was involved with the soundtrack (Bono and The Edge).
Oh, that's so cool. Dorian Gray was one of my favourite characters! Also nice of you to offer up these little nuggets of information as I had no idea he was a musician. Penny Dreadful was the first and only place I'd ever seen him on.
That longing and tortured look is something you can get lost in much like the faces in her dress. A classic late victorian age style that has the doom and gloom atmosphere. Funny ah-ha instead of Funny hah-hah, she doesn't normally sign nude stills from her movies. Which is another one of fate's cruel twists.
Wicked cover! Those blood droplets appear to be so tangible.
That was very cool of Mike to gift this to you (being an art rep. certainly has its Perks ;)
Congrats!
Thanks for bringing back my sad! I was pretty bummed when the show stopped, too. It was so good, imo. Sigh...But having your bud Perkins gift this to you has to cheer you up a bit! What a nice thing to do. And I love his choices here. The blood droplets look deceptively simple, but are perfect. And the effort on that dress. It's a great effect, and executed so well. Congrats (on both the work and working with a cool artist)!
Awesome. With you all the way, I absolutely love the series. Was instantly drawn to Eva Green.
What a beautiful and haunting piece!
Her likeness is well done but it's the inside dress composition that really grabs the attention.
What a generous and beautiful gift from Mike Perkins to you! I have never seen the TV show (I know ... how is that possible with the binge watching I am famous for) but I have heard great things, and it is on my list.
Love the layout and design and fantastic work on the likenesses too!
Stunning piece. It's a crime that it went unpublished, but at least now you're giving it an audience.
Fantastic Cover bud, love the dress!
