Description

Now, this is an entirely different take on the character itself. It is pretty offbeat but quite charming in its own way and certainly bears all the hallmarks of Andrew MacLean's style. Its zaniness is really quite something.

Hah! Offbeat is precisely what this is, but then again, that is what MacLean's entire style is! I submit that if there's any artist who you should know exactly what to expect from in regards to commissions, it's him! It's wacky, zany and yes, offbeat. But more importantly, fun!

Many thanks, Rubén!  Yes, it is such a fun piece and actually grows on you each time you view it.

So cool like he stepped out of a School House Rock cartoon!  The colors are wild just right for that time period.  The crosshatching lines for shadows is really high effort to give that animated energy.

Wow, CAB - I REALLY love this one, and the economy of the storytelling here.  It feels like it maybe shouldn't work, with how Andrew assembled the piece from its base components (as it were), but I love how it allows the viewer to move from "piece to piece"...  From the graphical - almost hieroglyphic - setting of the stage with the sun and vultures, down through Two-Gun's full figure, to the dusty street and shadow (all bound together with some FANTASTIC coloring and color choices), there's a synergy here - it is literally a deconstructionist Western. :)  I'm an enormous fan of your Two-Gun Kid theme, CAB, and this is one of my very favorites!  Congrats on the awesome commission!

Great looking piece. I must say your Western pieces grew on me and pushed me to take the leap into Western art. Amazingly I think I unknowingly leapt into the deep end and am busy behind the scenes doing a lot of reaserch on my pieces. I can't wait to share them and thank you for swaying me into yet another Genre.

Many thanks, Ian!  I look forward very much to viewing your pieces.  Indeed, some of the best artwork is in the Western genre.

Yeah, definitely an offbeat artistic style, but I dig it!  Great add!
