DescriptionBy my count, Jim Lee and Scott Williams only worked on 15 X-Men books together. The number is even smaller if you don't count the books other pencilers and inkers helped on. That means there are only 10 to 15 title splashes done by one of the top teams in comic history. I'm absolutely thrilled to have one of them in my collection!(Also, if you notice, this still fits my "space marvel" theme pretty nicely.) Thanks, Bill! I'll be forever grateful! Social/Sharing |

It was Olan Mills family portrait day at the X-Mansion and Professor X spring for the cosmic background. Their photographer was some guy named Lee and it was developed by hand by him along with Scott in the studio.

Dude... so happy for you! This is what I refer to as a "movie poster" page... usually it's a cover but this title splash fits the bill. They make the perfect display piece .. and I know a few things about X-men art and lee/Williams in particular .. this piece is better then most of covers! The only way I could be happier is if I somehow got it! Lol

Fallout... OF MY CHAIR. Jawdropping splash from the height of X-men for our generation. From the X-team to the artist team to the cosmic theme. It doesn't get any better.

Stunning! One of the best X-Men issues of the 90's featuring Claremont's farewell to his beloved creations: "I save you X-Men, because that is my task in life!" Congratulations on this beauty!

Cosmic X-Men are the best X-Men. This page 1 is truly a crown gem in any collection. Bravo-

Having conquered the spaceways, Fisch Benz turns his all-seeing art eye to the House of X. Where should he start? A nice panel page or two? Nah. How about a title splash from THE preeminent art team on the X-Men?
This is just a next level acquisition, my friend. Even saying "congrats" feels inadequate.

Incredible addition Fisch. What a title page...love the rendition of Magneto and Wolverine the best. I couldn't agree with you more.
Jim's prime Xmen run comes from a relatively small body of work (26 issues total of UXM and XM) just like the most highly sought after Liefeld OA comes from his early-Marvel runs on New Mutants and Xforce(22 issues). Their definitely is a paucity of prime work from the Image founders compared to earlier artist greats, many of whose most desired works come from longer runs.

Epic pickup! The X-Men group shot is key, but on a technical level, the linework of an invisible jet with a starry background is just fantastic.

So I'm guessing 50 miles up is how you jumped after landing this piece. I can see you on your way down now through my telescope. I'll spread out some cushions. Happy landings.
