I am thrilled to finally add a Bernie Wrightson page to my humble collection.

I came upon this through a casual meeting with another collector, where I mentioned I had been looking for a Wrightson piece. "I got one for sale," he said.

I only discovered this story when I learned that art was for sale. Written by Steve Niles, it's the tale of an LA detective who enlists the help of an undead ghoul to solve some grisly murders. Well-written, the story has excellent humor and classic Wrightson-style art. If you have not read it, I highly recommend it. In this scene, The Ghoul and Detective Klimpt stop at a gun shop to get some special weapons to take on a bunch of demons.

Still bums me out a bit that I never met Mr. Wrightson, but this is up on the wall where I can see it daily.
