DescriptionThe page illustrates when the Amulet comes to Brother Voodoo to tell him he is selected to become Doctor Voodoo.The top panel shows the origin of Doctor Strange, his search to find a cure for his damage to his hands, his fight against Dormammu, and his damaging battle when he assumed the dark magic power of Zom to fight the Red Hood’s gang’s attack on the Sanctum Supreme. Illustrated on the left side is his house (Sanctum Supreme) at 177A Bleecker Street in New York’s Greenwich Village and the Eye of Agamotto. It also shows the supporting Doctor Strange characters: his man-servant/friend Wong, his apprentice/wife Clea, and his mentor, The Ancient One. Standing next to Brother Voodoo is (Jericho Drumm) the ghost/spirit of his brother Daniel Drumm. As part of Brother Voodoo’s origin Daniel’s spirit is joined with Jericho’s. The lower panel shows some of the magic users in the Marvel Universe that were considered for the “job”. While I can’t identify them all, they include: The Hood (Parker Robbins, New Avenger’s villain), Doctor Doom, Baron Mordo, Doctor Druid, Ghost Rider, Jennifer Kale (from Man-Thing), Wiccan (Billy from The Young Avengers), Son of Satan (Daimon Hellstrom), Leech? (Mutant), and ???? Social/Sharing |
