Description
I love penciller / inker combinations where both creators are personal favorities. There are only a handful of Kirby / Everett covers so I am quite happy to have this one under my careful watch - the story depicted was actually written by Kirby as well.

Cover reviewed in this blog:

I added an additional image of the cover as published and...

Mitch's 1990 Ad for this cover, I was not focused enough in 1990 but I picked it up 20 years later from Mr. Burkey...it was more expensive but Kirby / Everett so found its home!

Very interesting inks. Everett really took Kirby pencils and made them his but still retained the distinct look of a Kirby piece. Fine inking.

Everett was one of Kirby's very best inkers. I fondly remember the couple of issues of Thor he did filling in for Colletta. This is an amazing cover!

Whoa... outrageously cool! This may be one of your greatest Everett-inked pieces. You have to hand it to Jack and Bill for taking a fairly simple scene and giving the reader so much to look at on this cover... and Sam Rosen kills here, too! Now, we'll just wait for you to add a Grottu page to your CAF!

Phenomenal Art! Everett's inks bring a realism to Kirby's power and perspective. A Tad envious here.

Wow, this cover is freakin' perfection!  If anyone ever tells me they don't get Kirby, I'm pointing them this way.  My mind is blown...

Wow, wow, wow!  Such a treat to see this original.  Kirby is The Man, but just can't say enough about those Everett inks.  So glad you reached out to let me know this was here.  Congratulations Mark!  This is a gem of a cover.  And this probably goes without saying, but I am so envious.  Again, WOW!

Stunning page. I keep forgetting that Kirby and Everett collaborated on this run. It's fantastic just to know that the page still exists!

KIrby poured his life's blood into every cover.  I love Everett's inks here as well.  It's like 3D without needing any glasses.  I've got to go to my comic shop and see if they have a copy of this in stock now...

Wild cover by The King from this really eerie story, shortly before he left Mighty Marvel for his 2nd DC period. Must be amazing in person!
