Millais/Barlow - Awake (Print)

My wife and I have seen this at a local Flea Market for a few years, and finally decided to offer a price, and it was accepted...

I have done my research and believe the print to be an actual 1893 release, or at least I can find nothing on the print to indicate otherwise...

Wasn't sure if I should post it here or not, as this does not really fall into the Comic Art league... However, incredible details and mesmerizing pieces are to be found all over CAF, and seem to come from many aspects of the simple appreciation of art well done...

What captured me was the look in the young girls eyes, and a wonder of what she might be looking at or what startled her, and the fact her face looks nearly picture perfect...

Not to mention, if you could see the fine details in the bedspread, birdcage, and items on the rug, it reminds me of the attention to details someone like Wrightson put into his Frankenstein lab scenes.

There are several condition issues, where the print was slightly trimmed to fit the frame, a little light water damage in the title bar at the bottom, yellowing of the paper, and generally the print looks like it's pretty close to 120 years old.

Overall though, considering its age, it looks really cool, and with the glass cleaned now and preserved with acid-free materials, I think the wife will be very happy for many years to come...

While I hope there are those here who will appreciate seeing this, I can also understand why some would not...
