Description

This Disney BIG cover is inspired by "Il commissario Topet" series, created by writer Augusto Macchetto, where Mickey Mouse is the French police commissioner Topet (inspired by Georges Simenon's Maigret) and Goofy is his assistant Pippotte.
It's a mystery series set in Paris in the 50s and the cases Mickey and Goofy try to solve are someway poetic and nostalgic and show us unknown and intimate aspects of both Paris and the characters involved.

The Topet story published in Disney BIG #70 is "Il caso del disegno di Stato", where the police commissioner speculates on potential secrets behind the Eiffel Tower, and its use for telecommunications. He is then called to actually investigate a matter of national security which involves the Tower. Aliens?

The cover shows Topet and Pippotte on a balcony, in Paris (the Eiffel tower is in the background), facing the reader with expressions between the alarmed and baffled. The framing is fantastic as well as the level of detail and Pippotte, with a baguette sandwich in his hands, incredibly funny.
