Whoa, indeed. That's a beauty.
you have good taste !
Wow great action in this Gene Colan Cover, congratulations
I so love early Colan on Daredevil. The images were so rich with blacks and super dynamic. And this is large art as well...must be amazing in person
Pretty happy to have seen this one in person - it's a beauty!
Great cover!!!
Fantastic cover!
I love blind superheroes. This one is outstanding. Great action and just gorgeously drawn. Thanks for posting.
A lovely cleanly drawn DD cover by Gene the Dean, with wonderfully tight pencils and inking before his style became looser and more atmospheric.
My good advice was heeded, although not needed. :)
So beautiful! Congrats!
Agreed with all. That's a beauty!!
WoW! Amazing cover! Congratulations on this incredible addition.
BOOM !!!! Goes the dynamite ....... Welcome officially to CAF. I heard you picked up this beauty at SDCC. It's another great example from a master draftsman in your amazing collection. Having a twice up cover from Colan is just the icing on the cake. The CAF universe will be anxiously waiting for your next update. Cheers! N.
Sweet cover - once you get past the initial wow, the figures in the crowd are a great detail!
Always loved Early Colan DD. .Timeless classic!
Cool cool cool! Did I mention this was cool?!
Who wouldn't be exited to get this in their collection? Would love to own some twice up art too!
Nice!!
Amazing DD Colan graetness! Comgrats!
Even if this was “regular size” it would be a true beauty. I can only imagine the oversized piece in person! Great great cover.
The first Daredevil story I ever read, through a 1970's reprint, so this cover image is still clearly imprinted in my brain. Fabulous twice up piece!
A large art cover of DD battling in a boxing ring, with the Gladiator to boot - it doesn't get any better than this!
Sweet Colan goodness!
Awesome Colan Cover. Congrats!
Gorgeous! Inked By Frank Giacoia with little dabs and doddles from, I assume, Production.
TREMENDOUS Colan´s DD cover!!
Lovely cover Bill. Hopefully, I can find a Colan DD half as nice as this one.
GLADIATOR!!!!!!! LOVE THIS!!
Wow, now that's an really impressive cover!
Fabulous cover - i remember this issue - Congrats !!!
Ohhh, lovely piece by one of my favorite artists ever! Big congratulations!
This is quite a score! Gene Colan already demonstrates how much he likes the dazzling acrobatics of what is fast becoming his signature character!
A true gem, congrats!!
that masterpiece really conveys Colan's genius. Thanks for sharing!
This is a classic Marvel cover in so many ways, and may have been one of Colan's best examples. Love the villain in the foreground looking at the hero through a screen trope. It is oft-used because it works so well, and especially well in the hands of a master like Colan, here. You could be blind and still appreciate this cover (sorry, I had to). Congratulations on an excellent acquisition!
Great historic cover from the most underrated Silver-Age artist!!!
Congrats!!
Wow! A great early DD Colan cover art! I wish i had one like this... Congrats!
Bill, you have an outstanding collection of prime Marvel covers. This is one of my favorites.
Such a cool cover, Colan at his best, congrats!
😎
You really cover all bases with that never-ending roster of all-stars, hat down !
It it interesting in the previous comments that no one acknowledged or confirmed the significance of this cover as you wrote in your description, This is just the second cover that Gene drew for Daredevil as he would take on the duties after John Romita, Sr. shifted over to the ASM title. He had by far one of the longest runs on this title. More importantly, Gene also dropped his 'Adam Austin' persona in 1965 that Marvel had tagged him with when he was pencilling the Tales to Astonish title to avoid DC going after him for free-lancing with Marvel.
Colan's run on Daredevil is very underrated, love this cover!
Killer cover!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH ! This should definetly be in my collection :)
Incredible cover! Your gallery is so good that I have to only look at once piece a day!
