DescriptionThis new hybrid is a tribute to the Japanese director Akira Kurosawa and one of the most important fathers of Donald Duck, Al Taliaferro."Dersu Uzala" is about an explorer sent by the Russian army on an expedition to the snowy Siberian wilderness, where he is rescued and makes friends with a rugged local Asian hunter. They'll later meet again when the explorer returns, guiding a larger expedition group, and the hunter finds that all of his nature lore is of no help when he accompanies the explorer back to civilization. Alberto's illustration here shows a truly magnificent composition, with the hunter facing a tiger in a lush environment. I watched this beautiful movie at school, back when I was a kid, and I clearly remember how I was impressed by the magnificence of the landscapes, totally new for my young eyes, and by the power of the message. Great work by Alberto, as his usual!
