Pose, attitude, costume, background and the overall mood: everything here is rendered to perfection! Fantastic addition, and for a good cause as well!
Absolutely stunning work from Panosian here, Michael. Very, very jelly.
Sweet! The snow is a nice added touch.
Panosian is right up there with Dave Johnson in terms of striking cover design. What a lush cover.
Yes! If you had told me that Dave Johnson had done this, I would not have questioned it.
That's some fantastic line work detailing and inking. Nice find!
Verrrrry nice
I always appreciate when an artist doesn't skimp on background. Great piece.
Crazy good travel poster style! Love it!!
Kerim Bey: A gift from your navy. It is a pity we cannot hear too. How are things in there?
James Bond: Well, from this angle... things are shaping up nicely.
This was made From Panosian with Love
Not just a Bond reference, but a Kerim Bey reference. That's digging deep Marcus. As a Bond fan, I'm impressed.
As for this piece, I must say, I am very impressed with Dan's efforts here. Definitely not the Dan Panosian I remember. Love the details and the gradual contrast shift from white to black (if you're going top to bottom), or black to white (if you're going bottom to top). Really well done and quite the eye catcher.
Thanks! You're absolutely right about the contrast shift - this piece was made for black and white; any attempt to color it would destroy the full effect of the work.
So sumptuous. To me, judging specifically from where they're all at today, Panosian is the greatest illustrator to have come out of Image and its various offshoot studios.
It's quite amazing how he's evolved since those days at Liefeld's Extreme Studios. His work just keeps getting better and better.
SO lovely, Michael. I can't pull myself out of the backgrounds on this one; the textures and designs of the minarets, the snow... and for a second, when I first saw the windows by her mid-left hip, I was wondering if he had spelled out 'Natasha' architecturally (with the "A-T-A" piece from the window framing there). Put me firmly in the "Dave Johnson vibe" camp; gorgeous. Love the hand-lettering, too. Incredibly cool (and for a GREAT cause) - sincere congrats, Michael!
Thanks! Yeah, the background on this is one of the main elements that drew me to this piece in the first place. Panosian didn't spare any details on this one.
Amazing piece by Panosian!
Texture, patterns, rhythm - visual music! Fantastic!
Panosian is equally adept with pencil and ink and superior with both. Tremendous piece - congrats!
Superb. Must get something from this chap at some point.
Thanks! Dan is represented by Essential Sequential if you're interested in looking at some of his stuff.
Such a great illustration. All that love Dan shows the background really grounds this piece. Congratulations!
One word: Cool.
Dan's unique style never disappoints! Fantastic piece!
Extraordinary piece, beautiful!
Dan outdid himself with this beauty, home run!
Wow! And that lettering is the cherry.
Yes! The addition of the logo pushed this from great to really great for me.
Fantastic! Panosian's visuals are amazing. Love how he can make the figure stand out from the background despite the rich varied textures and heavy use of black throughout the background and BW's costume; her posture and expression convey so much attitude; and, yes, the hand crafted lettering looks super
A masterpiece of modern Black Widow artwork... mighty fine, indeed!
Touchdown ! :)
Russian super-model ??
Great piece!
That's gorgeous, man. Love the way the figure, the background, AND the lettering are all tied in together. Nice hands on hips pose and I love that ever so slight smile in her expression. Winning image corner to corner. Congrats!
Stunning pick-up!
Incredible piece! I really need to get something from Dan at some point.
Way nice... Congrats
An outstanding Panosian piece, and I agree - he's outdone himself. The detail, depth and mastery of all that black ink work made this an unbelievably stunning cover/pinup/commission.
