Description

At this stage I've gotten to coloring for Green Arrow, again etched on 11 x 14" Canson. The background he's in is from the series finale, which made it feel very poignant. As for Oliver himself, admittedly I'm trying to channel Bryan Hitch in my photorealistic approach. The minimal cross hatching and shading is only so that the colors don't smudge with the black inks. The idea is, whether your eyes are traveling to the right or the left, it looks like a fade the way they segued into either flashbacks or present day. I haven't decided, however, on how to render Oliver. If it's gray, it will be a flashback. If it's regular colors, it runs the risk of looking dull. But not giving up and so far my client is stoked about what I've done so far. The mission is never over, as Diggle says. My art goes on, as much as Oliver's mission goes on. And for me, the mission is to always top myself and grow as an artist. More as it develops.
