Description
Iconic.

True of both Bill Sienkiewicz and of Elektra. And when the former draws the latter, it is everything.

Elektra: Assassin was a key point in forming my taste in comics and in art and remains one of my top two or three Marvel anythings.

Following the jagged lines that create her face, in a way that seems more like defining negative space than creating positive form, can be hypnotic. And I do believe she’s giving some deadly side-eye in this piece.

Obtained from the maestro at WonderCon 2024 (in support of the Golden Apple Foundation for Comics and Art).

Inducted into The Will Eisner Hall of Fame: 2019

Awesome!  You see Sienkiewicz work and become worried when he starts off with that very loose pencil.  He then tightens up the inks with a crystal clear vision that pulls it off to leave you with a sense of astonishment.

Holy moley! Talk about Less is More! That linework is pure kinetic mastery, it dances! Amazing piece.
