The Spark card is delightful, and I'm looking forward to the 100th card!
It's gonna be a special one, for sure! ;)
Looks a lot like Lighting Lass. Oh wait... apparently she re-imagined herself as Spark. Whatever she's called nowadays, I always liked that costume design which is nicely captured here. And the background lightning is very cool too. Thought she wore her hair in a bob, but maybe she reinvented that too. I guess a girl is allowed to change her style over the years! Looking forward to seeing card #100.
Phew, this one is a bit of a long story. When they originally brought in the Legionnaires team as a younger, brighter alternative to the older Legion, many of them took newer, "cooler" codenames. Lightning Lad became Live Wire, and his sister, who had her Light Lass powers, became Gossamer. Well, times and continuities change, and you end up with both Ranzz twins having their lightning powers. Live Wire kept his updated name, which meant Lightning Lass needed a new name, too, and I guess they decided Spark was a good name to give her!
Do stay tuned for card #100, which is sure to shock and amaze (genuinely no lightning pun intended, though)!
Very nice! I think the zoom out allowing for more of a torso figure than a bust really adds to the overall effect and content value of the sketch card. With your 100th sketch card to come also by Jeff that's basically a 58% allotment to Jeff Moy within your sketch card collection (at least to that point) which is pretty impressive to say the least.
If anything, I'm surprised the Moy percentage of my sketch cards is only as low as 58%! I've done a better job of diversifying than I'd thought. Thankfully they're still my favourite kind of sketch card to collect so I don't intend on stopping any time soon!
Ha, nice one! I have noticed that Jeff likes to draw Ayla here with bigger eyes than lots of his other lady Legionnaires. I think it's part of her charm!
