Power Pack #13 Cover

Great story and a great cover!  Your 8 year-old self had a pretty good eye for comics and Power Pack was certainly a fun read back in the day!  My then 22 year-old self also bought this book off of a DC area 7-11 spinner rack; I hope you had a Slurpee to go with your purchase as I did!  :)

Big CONGRATULATIONS on adding this nostalgic gem to your collection!!!  

I didn't even know what a Slurpee was that first time in a 7-11, so it wasn't until we got our first 7-11 in my town three years later that I knew enough to try one out - loved the root beer Slurpees when they had them (it was one of those flavors that only seemed to be available at random times).

Glad you got this. It is a super nice feeling to get something this meaningful. Sadly for me, in relation to US comics, the cover of Daredevil 166 is well out of reach! Lol

Daredevil by Miller and Janson - a fantastic run that must have made a great intro to US comics, but a big impact on the wallet if you're looking for original art from it!

Great souvenirs you share and quite the get. I mean, it's not a Brigman cover (some could argue) but what a cover from one of those memorable 80s artists. 

(I need to reread that series as an adult)

Funny thing is that after picking up issue #13, I didn't see another issue on a newsstand until issue #17 a little while later.  That issue had June Brigman art, and I do have a page of original art from it, so I do have OA from my first Brigman issue as well.

Birth cover of "Bats" Bates.

I'm still waiting for Bates' second appearance.  Marvel never responded to my proposed six-part "Bates' Last Bunt" story where Bates would bury Jack Power alive and take his place.

Everyone from Queens still remembers the Mecs beating the Red Pox in the '86 World Series.

Very cool, love when covers like this find the right collector, and first stringers Anderson & Wiacek made it a memorable one! But since I missed Power Pack, was Cloud Boy the leader? Congrats!

Cloud Boy (which would have been his name if he'd been a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, but Marvel named him Mass Master) was not the leader.  Gee, the other male member of the team, was the leader by right of being the oldest.
