DescriptionHere is Gil Elvgren's masterpiece, "Anchors A-Wow", which graces the first edition cover to Louis Meisel & Charles Martignette's original pin-up tome, "The Great American Pin-Up" from 1996. As legendary NYC art dealer Meisel said, "It is the most famous pin-up by the very best [pin-up] artist" and is "the most famous pin-up [painting] in the world". Simply stunning. Hard to say whether this is "better" than the Skirting piece since they are both magnificent pieces. Congrats on the addition.

it's so subjective to get into 'best or greatest', but this is without a doubt a classic by a true grand-master !!! Absolutely Stunning in every sense of the word !!!

I have no idea why I missed seeing this beauty in your incredible collection, but I am glad I finally have!!! An iconic Elvgren, if not his best! BEAUTIFUL!!!
