Welcome to my collection of art from the late, great Steven Hughes. We lost Steven far too early on February 18, 2000 after a difficult battle with cancer. Steven's work was extremely influential during the Bad Girl craze of the mid to late 90's and propelled Chaos! Comics to one of the top independent publishers of the time. His design for Evil Ernie and Lady Death are still iconic to this day and I often wonder where his artistic journey might have led him were he still alive today. I've made it a personal crusade to collect as much of Steven's art as I can afford and to display it here on CAF for all to enjoy and appreciate. Steven's creative approach to storytelling, page layout and heavy blacks are still outstanding to this day and I think there's so much more nuance and skill in his work than to dismiss it as "bad girl" art. I owe a lot of thanks to other longtime Chaos! art collectors, Steven's widow Barbara and Steven himself for the pieces I'm lucky enough to own.
