ULTRA-SPECIAL THANKS GOES OUT TO DAVE WAUGH, WITHOUT WHOSE CONTRIBUTION THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN A MUCH-DIMINISHED PRESENTATION!!!!!
Further behind-the-scenes info on this series can be found HERE and HERE.
Here they are. In 1998, Marvel attempted to relaunch one of its most storied titles from the 1980's: The Micronauts. 3 issues were in various stages of completion, before rights issues forced the book's cancellation before publication. Micronauts fans were aware of the book as it was being assembled, and were crushed when the cancellation became apparent. Only the lowest of 1998-level low-rez scans had made it out of the Halls of Marvel.
After years of obscurity and questions, all the pages from this ill-fated attempt to bring back the Micronauts have come to light. Each page will be posted with its corresponding script page or story description.
2019 ADDITIONAL: Pages marked '+Prelim' have had images of Cary Nord's original prelims added.
The viewer can take this comment for what it's worth: as a whole piece, the three issues here are a Master Class in how to assemble a comic book. Story Breakdown > Pencil Breakdowns > Finished Pencils > Preliminary Inks > Finished Inks > Finished Script. Reading the three books from beginning to end, you get the strange sensation of the story 'fading away' right in front of your eyes.
Here we have ISSUE ONE. As the oldest of the three books that were in production, it is the furthest along. All covers and pages are inked, and the writing had progressed from storytelling breakdowns all the way to scripting, using The Marvel Method.
