In honor of the conclusion of Battlestar Galactica's final season on SciFi, I'll be posting my Galactica pages here. I find I have a real weakness for the iconic designs of the ships of both series, so my aquisitions are light on human figures.
I was always kinda fascinated by the 'alternate' designs of the Galactica and Pegasus as done by Maximum. Certainly, it was meant to represent 20-odd 'yahrens' of damage, refits, refinements and modification; hence, the Galactica looked different from the Pegasus, as they'd been separated from each other all that time and would have undergone separate refits based on their experiences, as well as reflecting the personalities of their respective commanders. Hence an armored, defensive Galactica and a sleek, offensive Pegasus.
But in a more relaxed Battlestar universe, what if...
12 colonies, 12 Battlestars, right? If it's reasonable to assume that each colony was asked to contribute a finished Battlestar to the fleet, with certain design specifications homogeneous for easy fleet use, wouldn't each colony produce interestingly different Battlestars? Using naval parameters, a Speed-based Battlestar, an Armor-based Battlestar, a Heavy-Weapon Battlestar, a Defensive Weapon Battlestar, a Large Air Wing Battlestar, a Stealth Battlestar, a Scout Battlestar, a Deep Strike Battlestar...
