PRAVDA, page 71 Owner: Rarebit Fiend Comment posted on 1/1/2018 That's really a "key-page" in the story of Pravda. Pellaert is still not well known to comic fandom and thus an under-estimated comic artist. And this truly a shame. |

Robert Crumb Mr. Natural 1967 East Village Other! Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 8/19/2017 Exciting! You said "a vintage page from 1967", which seems so far in time ... but actually the "spirit" of this page seems to come directly from the platinum age of comics, with that "crude", almost prehistoric, trait of the first Crumb. Awesome piece. |

Enrique Breccia - Painted page from 'Lovecraft' (2002) Owner: Davide G. Comment posted on 10/16/2016 Grande il Lovercraft di Breccia ! |

Alex Raymond: Flash Gordon, 2-23-1936 Owner: Rob Pistella Comment posted on 10/15/2016 In this comic fandom over-sized of super-heroes, in a landscaped with skyscrapers made of tons of comic-books splash-pages... well to see only eight comments for such a masterpiece of one of the fathers of comics is really, really depressive... I think that among those who came after Raymond only Frazetta, Williamson and very few others have reached a kind of quality like the Master. Rob... a museum piece. |

CARL BARKS - UNCLE SCROOGE "Go Slowly Sands of Time" Owner: CIRO SCOGNAMIGLIO Comment posted on 10/15/2016 I must admit that Barks' first-sketches-firsts are often much better than the final paintings. In fact, while in the preparatory sketches you still can "feel" tha hand of the artist, the final paintings, instead, show the many touches and re-touches the artist went through in order to obatain the results he wanted to. Thus, the painting looks perfect, but, compared to the sketch, it lacks feelings... At the end, here you can really feel the comic-artist at his best. |

Stefano Tamburini, "Snake Agent" - pag. 2 of the story "The Escape of Ronnie the Beast", from "Frigidaire" magazine #8-9, 1981 Owner: Maurizio Scudiero Comment posted on 8/13/2016
Jeff Singh said:
Fascinating from many perspectives. Reworking and reusing other's art to create a new series is a fun idea. Companies like Fiction House and other artists often reused panels but this is something quite different. I had not realized there was a copier called Rank Xerox which explains Liberatore's creations name in a way I was previously not familiar with. ![]() Yes, because the character of Ranxerox was originally created by Stefano Tamburini, who drawn it in black and white, and only later Tamburini called Tanino Liberatore for the drawings while he curated the script. By the way, I thinl that "Snake Agent" was too ahead in time... |

Oh wow!!! I love these two strips! What did FedEx say in their defense? It had to have tracking numbers... ![]() To Thomas and all friends who wrote about this bad story. The shipping originated in New Jersey and in order to go to Europe instead to go directly to JFK airport was redirected to FedEx headquarter in Memphis (?!) And there the troubles began... This was early October 2015. After dozens of mails by me and also by Robert Pistella eventually on October 29th the shipping was declared "lost". In other words they could not dedicate any more time to search for it... Could be that someday it pop-ups in Bejing or Sidney or in the Death Valley, but nobody will look for it anymore. My hope is that somebody find this parcel, open it and try to sell the strips... End of the story. Thanks for your comments. Maurizio |

Didn't know which one ! But, thanks to Thomas comment I start searching and I've found this additional picture and... it was amazing to see my piece right there, on the wall of Raymond' studio ! MANDRAKE & C. Owner: Roy Mann Comment posted on 1/17/2009 You're in good company. The same happened with the covers by Karel Thole for the italian Sci-Fi magazine "Urania". Since the original artworks were scanned se they could well be destroyed. That's to say: the copy is more important than the original ! And this is what we have to expect with the digital point of view... |

The GOLDEN ARROW Owner: Roy Mann Comment posted on 1/11/2009 We must say that in Italy we were very lucky during the 60s. If you were familiar with all those heros of the 30s, like Flash Gordon, Mandrake, Tim Tyler's luck, Brick Bradford and The Phantom, you had plenty of choice with many comic book series with fantastic colorful covers realised by this great artist still almost unknown: Mario Caria. They really added a hint of fascination to the stories, and it was a pleasure to collect such comic books. |

Tarzan by Hal Foster Owner: Ronald Fraser Comment posted on 2/22/2008 The panel is a very beutiful one, with all it needs to have in it: Tarzan, the ape, the jungle with its inhabitants and a sign of the civilised world, the airplane. Very good one ! About a complete Foster sunday... do not desperate. World is half to sell and half to buy. When I was a kid I dreamed about to complete my comic-book series. I thoght that world was all in there. And I never suspected that once I could posses at least one original art. Now I have hundreds, mostly vintage ones. So, it's just a matter of time. Everything will happen. |
