Description

There's that special moment when you come back home and find a package, delivered by the mailman, from one of the artists you love the most. And you don't know what to expect.

When I talked with Alberto about this piece, we agreed it would have been a homage to both Luciano Bottaro (a Disney comic books Master and creator of many important characters such as Pepito, Whisky & Gogo, Pon Pon etc) and David Cronenberg (Canadian director of movies such as Videodrome, Scanners, The Fly, The Dead Zone, Naked Lunch etc).
And Alberto said it would have been "wicked".

I guess that was the first word I thought when I opened the package and saw the illustration for the first time.

Wicked.

Alberto chose Cronenberg's movie "The Brood" and we can see a female duck that resembles Samantha Eggar and a few mutant ducks that easily could be the deformed mutant version of Huey, Dewey, and Louie.
Also, it is interesting to note that Bottaro, in many interviews, stated that he didn't like Donald's nephews (he often sent them away when writing a story), so here it's kind of fitting that Alberto drew them as "monsters" in a piece that homages the great Rapallo's cartoonist.

The illustration is powerful, scary, and pure evil.
The use of blacks is magnificent.

Almost looks like a theatrical release poster, and I kinda imagined it placed at the beginning of a story, the camera zooms in until we're inside the poster, and... the characters come to life and the story begins.

What a scary, devious, and evil story that would be!!!
