Pike, Jay Scott - Showcase #79 Cover Recreation Owner: Ray Cuthbert Comment posted on 12/15/2010 This was one of the comic books I bought off the spinner rack 40+ years ago. Didn't know who Dolphin was but after flipping through the issue I wanted to know more about her. When she didn't get her own series I was crushed. Can you imagine what the series would have been like? It would have been lovely Jay Scott Pike art every issue. Wow. Must be sweet looking at this recreation by the original artist, Ray. Fantastic idea for your collection. |

Powder Owner: Sam Hughes Comment posted on 6/16/2010 Your Toth Black Hood piece popped up on the random "Featured Comic Art" when I opened CAF. It reminded me of your collection and I had to look through your CAF. You have so many wonderful pieces, but the Aleta panel and this Eisner splash are my favorites. I recall seeing this splash page in person (Was it about 15 years ago when I last saw you in San Diego?), and it remains a memory to savor. Thanks for allowing this to refresh my memories. |

Terry and the Pirates Daily Strip 11-25-1937 Owner: Max C Comment posted on 4/30/2010 Burma, as usual, is stunning in panel one. Caniff always showcases her with incredible eyebrows and cheekbones. Wow. The other highlight in this strip has to be the artistry in panels three and four. In these panels Caniff shows his masterful use of staging, perspective, realism, and chiaroscuro. Simply amazing. |

Y: THE LAST MAN #1 p.32 Owner: Felix Lu Comment posted on 1/8/2008 I hear you, Felix. "Y" is one of those special comics that comes out once in a while that is not the blockbuster super hero comic book, but is an example of diversity of comic books. In the early issues when I would finish reading the issue I felt like I had just finished watching a fast paced TV show or movie. Twists and turned propelled the plot in unexpected advances. Now as I am reading the story through the trade paperbacks, within huge chunks of plot growing depth of character are revealed and leave me hungry for what is coming next. I can't wait to read the final story. This splash is a special memory from Brian and Pia. It is loads of fun to own a page like this. |

A Nightmare on Elm Street Issue 8, page 21. Owner: Paul Greer Comment posted on 10/13/2007 It really is a shame that the comments for this page have taken a turn to sarcasm and insults. I know you to be fair minded fellows. Sarcasm that can be handled better when spoken in person does not "read" well on the Internet. Neither do insults. I think that you guys can see that this is going nowhere. Everyone has had their say. Let that be the end of it. I will verify that a year ago or so Tony did indeed make me a 20K cash offer on an original from my collection. |
