Alfredo Alcala is my favorite inker on Newton's Batman. But it would really interesting to see Newton/Alcala on Aquaman.  Bob McLeod was pretty respectful to Newton's pencils.

Nice looking page. I love Irv Novick. But it's cool how Garcia-Lopez took a little of the edge off in the inks.

Well, Drake cut up a great one.  I mean, maybe he didn't even have to cut up a particular strip to send something to a fan.  I have a few JJ strips where Drake had cut up parts of previous strips for new JJ strips.  A real shame.

Chris Stevens is inventing his own language for superheros with the colors, textures and even anatomy.  To me, he's like the Edwin Georgi of comics with his "Stevensian" color palette.

Aaand this concludes New Mutober !!  Cool splash with Cannonball.  I wonder if there was ever any thought to having a sound effect when he takes off.  Like Nightcrawler has > BAMF < .  Cannonball should've had a > BOOM < or something like that.

Very minimalist yet recognizable as Ian Gibson's work.

The New Mutants used up lots of black ink with the original uniforms, Sunspot and Warlock. 

Powerful transformation.  Great lighting.

Awesome father and son team !!  Joe's inks are faithful to Paolo's tight pencils.  Having the penciller and inker as 2 separate people is definitely an American thing.  It's great that you have both pieces.

Lush inks by Nestor Redondo !!  Even now, regardless of the genre (or language), Redondo's style is very recognizable.  He was just the greatest Filipino import by DC at the time.

Great cover by DG !!  I'm not sure about the chronology but this design and the poses were used numerous times by DC / Giordano.

It's nice that he's receiving visitors.  Hope he's recovering well.

Cool period in the post-Crisis DC Universe.  Byrne was setting up the relationships between Superman and a bunch of DC characters.  Even after so many artists had previously taken on Superman, Byrne was still able to create his own unique vision of Superman and other DC characters.  Even the whole "no more blue hair" thing was news !!  The pixelated space background is more apparent than in print.

New Mutober.  Time and space, be prepared to read the story in reverse... Y'all . as Sam Guthrie might say.
