Description
As a prelude to Loki’s ‘acquisition’ of the Imperial Ring of Asgard, Thor is seen here setting a trap for some truck hijackers – at the request of the local police. An easy task ahead of the story arc of Loki’s reign and the fall of Asgard.
Everett has really put in a lot of detail on the King’s pencils, particularly on the top half of the page. I’m not sure I’ve seen such embellishment on the strapping of Mjolnir’s handle before! Everett was a joy on Kirby, but inked him on far too few issues.

Wow....wow. Wow. That shockwave hit me, too. I hope to find as incredible of a Kirby Thor Mjolnir page some day. 100% agreed, I wish we saw more Everett over Kirby. The page is gorgeous. Huge congrats!

This is a great page! I love Kirby / Everett!

I think Buscema was inspired by this when he made "my" page of the Fantastic Four # 123 with the Thing that destroys the road, Look at it you'll love it.

A beautiful page from a magical team. I wish Bill should have inked more of these Thor books. Jack gave us a great artwork and the brush of Everett was magical. What a superb page, congratulations Paul !

Agreed. Everett was one of Kirby's finest inkers and truly did him justice - shame he inked the King so rarely, but well done for picking up a masterpiece.

A great Jack Kirby page alone; the inking by Bill Everett is beautiful; some of the best brush work I have seen. Congratulations on such a wonderful acquisition.

This powerful page surely is in the wrong collection (= not mine), by Odin's bristling beard !

Everett was such a breath of fresh air inking Kirby, especially after Colletta. Such amazing artwork!

Kirby/Everett.  As you said, too few examples.  But, an amazing combination.

Jiminy Crickets, this page absolutely smokes! Beyond the remarkable inks, Kirby's panel compositions are extra fresh.

It's a particular trait that I always loved with Thor during the Lee/Kirby age: the constant switch between highly cosmic epics and more down-to-Earth adventures! And, however quirky it may appear, the interaction between the God of Thunder and the all-too-human mob does work splendidly! And, yes, the inks of Bill Everett are shining bright!

Yes, and that was so Marvel - and something that the better MCU films managed to pick up on.
