Spectacular cover that I'm sure you are over the Moon about!
Appropriate that yours was the first comment!
What an epic meeting-clash! I still clearly remember this spectacular cover from my boyhood. Congrats and thanks for sharing this stunner!
Absolutely chock-full of action and inky goodness. Congrats!
A great memorable cover! Congrats!
Always liked Cockrum's Spidey !! This cover is simply incredible, !!
Splendid cover!
Wow, Bill! Another gem unveiled!
My Spidey senses are tingling !! Of course fans appreciate Dave Cockrum for his X-Men work and costume/character designs. But he really was a great cover artist as well.
Just great! Thanks for sharing Bill!
Star-studded cast from an amazing art duo makes for one pulse-pounding classic cover!
Monumental Moon Knight cover!
Home run, Bill!
A power-packed Peter Parker cover!
Fantastic cover, love the composition,a winner for sure, congrats !
Nice pick up Bill!!
The Spectacular Spider-Cover!!
A dynamic Cockrum cover from his prime era!
What an awesome cover; congratulations!
Such a cool looking battle cover!!!
Woooooow simply marvelous !!!
Are you kidding me, how do you locate this stuff, Bill...
Wonderful cover
Wow! This is cliche but this is Spectacular indeed!
Love alley way scenes with Spidey! Moon Knight makes it extra sweet! Congrats!
Outstanding! The Marvel team up of Cockrum and Rubinstein is a great one.
VERY NICE BILL!!
Classic instance of "Heroes Meet, Have Misunderstanding, Battle Each Other, Realize They Are On The Same Side, Team Up To Fight Real Bad Guy!" And what a cover image! I love the dramatic action of Moon Knight hurling those crescent moons, and how one of them tears Spidey's suit. It's a great street level scene too, with an innocent bystander in jeopardy to "raise the stakes" just that much more. Brilliant grab, Bill !!
"Marvel's TV Sensation" (for a limited time only) makes this even more rarefied! Congrats!
Love this one, picked it up off the racks specifically because of the rockin’ Cockrum cover, had no idea who Moon Knight was but was eager to find out, congrats!
A nice treat for the eyes, an early Moon Knight on the cover along with Spidey. Congrats on this find.
Amazing cover! Huge congrats!
Good good stuff! Love when I get a watch notification that you've posted something!
Did you double-check that this isn't the Pollard? ;-)
This cover is a dream , the duo Cockrum / Austin is superb and you can feel the action of the well know characters !
Today all we know the reason for what the Pollard cover was unpublished...
Congrats on a fun memorable cover.
WOW, another Fantastic addition to your collection!
When I see incredible pieces like this, I sometimes can’t help but feel that Cockrum’s strong association with X-Men was both a blessing and a curse. Over time, many of us have probably developed a sort of tunnel vision about his great career at Marvel. To the point where it almost seems like helping to relaunch a title that would become a comics juggernaut, was his only achievement. But I love seeing pieces like this that remind us (that reminds everyone) just how great of an artist he was. This is the second non-X Cockrum cover that’s been posted on CAF this week. And while both are phenomenal, with Spidey being my favorite character, it’s impossible for me not to favor this one. Having Moon Knight on the cover as well is just adding a bucket of icing and a jar full of cherries to an already ridiculous cake. Not the least bit surprising, as your gallery is among an elite handful that has become known for curating legendary works. Almost makes me want to take my entire gallery down in shame. Congratulations on yet another comic art masterpiece.
Fantastic cover - love all that bronze-age goodness!
Everyone knows what a great X-Men artist Cockrum was. Who knew that he could draw Spider-Man so well? Congratulations on this excellent cover!
What a great age for a classic crossover! It's a given they fight and then team up! Even with Marvel Team Up out there, Moon Knight warranted a main Spidey title appearance! A dynamic Cockrum cover with alley way battle action bringing a darker tone. Hammond, Bixby, Carter, and Reeves made for a golden age of superhero content driving more emphasis to comics!
Love covers that show that Spidey-Sense tingling. Congrats on another gem!
Another great cover for the collection, Bill! Congrats :)
Baller.
Dave Cockrum could do no wrong at this stage of his career... he was the master of the long, sweeping gestural lines in his figures. Great cover from a great era of funnybooks!
As good as it gets....
Great addition to an even better colleciton, Bill!
It doesn't get much better, that's an INCREDIBLE cover... so beautiful, big congrats on this one!
wonderful.
Great cover and a nice addition to your gallery ! Congrats Bill !
Amazing and Spectacular Cockrum - Rubinstein Cover! A masterpiece! Regarding MK I love all the drawings that respect the fact that the cape must have the half-moon shape! SUPERB ADDITION!
And next gem in Bill J Museum :) Huge congratulations sir !
Great sense of movement on that one. A strong cover.
another great cover added to your collection, congrats!
Ooh, dang it, Bill! I was going to go with the whole "but which one is the 'TV sensation' now?" angle, and you beat me to it... :) What an add! An absolutely phenomenal cover that packs some historical punch... A Moon Knight cover appearance right as his star was rising (profile was waxing?), drawn by Cockrum? Yes, please! Another killer, Bill! Brilliant pick up - congrats!
that is an awesome, classic cover!! Congrats!!
Spectacular Cover - fantastic addition.
Stellar cover, Bill! Great battle action!
So so good. Thanks for posting and for the bit of history lesson. Fun and educational!
The childhood nostalgia factor is strong with this one. Great piece. Thanks for sharing!
I am usually not a big Cockrum fan, but this piece ticks all the boxes, congrats !
Marvel Universe is really going downhill. Getting so you can't hang out in a back alley in the trash without being attacked. Betting next day if that guy lives, he will pull up stakes and move to Gotham.
Hello amazing cover. Well composed with two of the best dressed characters. Love it.
70s Cockrum greatness with a huge Spidey image. Doesn't get any better than this.
Beautiful cover and a lifelong personal favorite. Congrats!!
Upside down triangle composition make this a solid visual. Spidey's elbow to Moonknights left hand to the guys head keeps us zoomed in on the action!
1. Bill, where are you finding this stuff???
2. I didn't realize how many crescents are designed into the Moon Knight's costume.
3. I bet it was an easy transition for Cockrum to work on that cape. A little bit of Storm and Banshee in it.
4. Ahhh, New York City in the 70s. Is it really urban decay if you discard your empties in the proper receptacle?
5. I love how you point out the crescent 🌙 moon ripping open Spidey's costume in one sentence, and then say they patch things up in the next. Symbolism and puns, anyone?
After a splendid Cover, in which our neighborhood spider man has to do with a plucked bird ;)
here we are to comment on this splendid Cover with our spider grappling with Moon Knight, you will never cease to amaze us with these splendid Covers, congratulations Bill
Fantastic cover!!! Congrats
This cover is so blazing it set off Pete's Spidey Sense! I remember this cover, and even picking it up as a back issue at MLCS. :) This one has it all, with heroes duking it out, webs and moon darts, a cringing Normie, full backgrounds, and even a slice through Spidey's costume. Pure awesomeness. Swinging high!
Vintage goodness.
Great Spider-Man Cover! Congrats!
Wow, another stunning piece of Marvel history!
Not really a Spidey fan but I've always loved this cover! Congrats!
Iconic cover! Takes me back...
Such a nice action packed cover!
Yup, I have a whole run of Spectaculer Spidey comics and this cover definitely stands out. I love hero vs hero images, and this one's chock full of energy and depth! Add the lettering up top and bottom with both hero names sandwiching the face off?! You got a stellar piece all around. Big congrats, Bill!
What they (others) have said!
Easily one of my all-time favorite PPSSM covers. I remember being a kid and seeing this on the stands and begging to get a copy. Some images just stick with you. This is one of them. Congrats!
Count me as someone who didn't pay attention to Cockrum outside of X-Men, but he really could draw Spidey. Congrats on adding another great cover to the collection!
OMG IT'S A COMMENT STORM!
This is a dream cover and introduces the fact that MK is coming into the mainstream Marvel Universe as he tangles with Spidey.
Such a great cover! Congrats!
Iconic page. I remember when I read it. Great!!
They don't make covers as awesome as this anymore.
One of the best covers from this nostalgia-rich run!
Oh boy - classic, historic, epic - this one meets all the superlative parameters. Major congrats on adding this to your museum worthy collection!
The hits keep coming, great cover with spidey and moon knight fighting each other, can't ask for any more, congrats Bill
Epic Cover in the best curated Collection ever! Huge congrats, Bill!
Classic Cockrum. Impeccable draftsmanship and dynamic action, in the mighty Marvel manner!!! You don't see new comic art like this anymore
Full Moon ;-) Congrats!
