The first comic I ever remember buying for myself was X-Men #107, and Dave Cockrum's artwork became imprinted in my brain. Dave was a fantastic character/costume designer and did some amazing work, particularly in the 70's to 80's.
I got to meet Dave at conventions in the late 90's and he was a great guy as well as a great talent. I'm sad that he left us much too soon.
