This Italian supernatural adventure series has a lot of conceptual overlap with John Constantine and Doctor Who, traveling around and helping someone different in each adventure. Harlan Draka is a sort of super-hero in plain clothes. He's a "Dampyr," the half-vampire son of a vampire lord. His blood is poison to vampires, so he coats his weapons with it.
This one-shot issue follows a pattern familiar for this series: After a historical prologue, Harlan and his friends Kurjak and Tesla travel to a new city, inform a local about the existence of vampires, and then work together to kill one. The setting this time is Budapest, with "local color" provided by the story of Erzsébet Báthory of Ecsed, a sixteenth century Countess who was convicted of torturing and murdering scores of young women.
In this version of the story, Countess Báthory was put up to it by one of her servants (hence the title), Dorothea Szentes, who was actually a vampire. When Dorothea resumes her lurid old tricks in modern-day Budapest, an ex-cop helps Harlan crack the case.
